In a career that has led her from the BBC Young Tradition Award to touring with Snow Patrol, Jennifer Crook has earned a reputation as an outstanding harp player as well as an acclaimed singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist. She has appeared on national television, recorded the music for the BBC David Attenborough series ‘The Private Life of Plants’ and was recently invited to contribute to the BBC Radio 2 programme ‘Girl On Guitar’, about Joni Mitchell. Jennifer’s 2011 release ‘Merry-Go-Round’ featured contributions from Eddi Reader and Darrell Scott and was produced in Glasgow by Boo Hewerdine. The album earned her national airplay and a live session with the legendary Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.

2014's 'Carnforth Station' is Jennifer’s third solo release and features her partner this evening - multi-instrumentalist Mike Cosgrave (Jackie Oates/Jackie Leven), along with regular cellist Beth Porter (Eliza Carthy/Newton Faulkner). Recorded by Leon Hunt and Stephen W Tayler, the album includes some concert favourites as well as brand new material inspired by their travels, and guest appearances from premier lap steel player Kevin Brown and singer/double bassist Miranda Sykes.

Camilla Larson came to our notice through her excellent version of Liz Simcock's By The Way.

Hailing from Hell in Norway, she was raised on American country music and identifies Nanci Griffith as her greatest inspiration.

All of which makes her a TwickFolk natural, and we're delighted to finally have her play for us.
